The WDA launched its "Sip All Day, Get Decay" public awareness campaign in 2003 (originally developed by the Minnesota Dental Association) to educate the public about the negative effects the acid and sugar in soda have on teeth.

It's no secret there exists a strong link between soda consumption and tooth decay. Heavy soda consumption also has been linked to other health complications including diabetes, obesity and osteoporosis.
