Smile Contest at the Wisconsin State Fair
Children, newborns to 16-year-olds, competed for the title of “best smile” at the WDA's 21th
annual Smile Contest on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 at the Wisconsin State Fair presented by U.S. Cellular.
First, second and third-place prizes were awarded in seven age categories; there was even a special tin grin category for kids with braces. An entertaining and educational “Flossy La Tooth” show taught kids the value of good oral health habits. All participants took home a collection of personal oral health products and educational items. This year’s Smile Contest was made possible through generous donations of oral health products, prizes and financial support from Delta Dental of Wisconsin, Dental Health Products Inc., DenTek Oral Care Inc., D&S Dental Lab Inc., Patterson Dental Supply, Popp Dental Supply, Procter & Gamble/Crest, Saber Dental Studio, Sullivan-Schein Dental, Sunstar Butler, WDA Insurance Programs Inc., WDA Foundation and the WDA.
