This award-winning publication received the 2009 Outstanding Leadership Editorial, 2009 Special Citation Award for "The Jawbone" satirical issue and 2006 Newsletter Award from the International College of Dentists and a 2005 Paragon Award of Merit from the Public Relations Society of America – Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter.
WDA Sourcebook – This annual member directory and practice guide is a valuable desktop reference. It has answers to frequently asked practice and legal questions, bylaws and codes of ethics, endorsed products and services, regulatory compliance information, commonly requested phone numbers and Web sites and much more. This is a must-have resource for member dentists and their dental teams.
WDA.org Web site – Besides providing oral health information for your patients, WDA member dentists get exclusive access to resources that help with day-to-day practice management. Get answers to frequently asked questions about dental records, delegation of duties, continuing education requirements, OSHA, recycling amalgam waste, HIPAA and more. The WDA.org Web site got a “facelift” in early 2010 to give a fresh, updated look along with enhanced user tools, including social media integration applications, better video capabilities and user-controlled font size.
- Facebook fan page – Show your support for and affiliation with the WDA while getting the latest updates, photos and videos in your News Feed by becoming a fan on Facebook.

- The Executive Director’s Update is sent monthly to WDA members. It offers the latest association, dental-related regulation and compliance, legislative and community news. To receive the EDU, log in to WDA.org and click “My Dashboard” to manage your newsletter subscriptions.
- The WDA Give Kids A Smile e-Update includes tips and guidelines for planning a GKAS event, including in-office, group and component-wide events and classroom presentations. It also reminds you to register your event with the WDA to be included in pre-event press releases and a post-event summary in the WDA Journal. To receive this e-Update, log in to WDA.org and click “My Dashboard” to manage your newsletter subscriptions.
- Component Connection is sent to all component officers to share best practices and provide tools and resources to help you lead your society. Past issues are posted in the “Local Dental Societies” section of WDA.org (member log-in required).
- A special Mission of Mercy e-newsletter is sent to all individuals and organizations who wish to be kept informed of the latest MOM news and updates. To receive this e-newsletter, send your request and e-mail address to lbecker@wda.org.
CareerConnection – WDA CareerConnection is the only online job center exclusively for dental careers and employment connections in Wisconsin. It serves dentists, hygienists, assistants, lab technicians and front office staff who are seeking to hire or looking for employment. Click CareerConnection to search for jobs or candidates or to post your resume.
Peer Review – Peer Review is a process that identifies and analyzes relevant facts concerning disputes about the quality and appropriateness of professional dental services. The purpose is to improve the quality of dental health care in Wisconsin. Peer Review provides an expert and credible system for resolving disagreements between dental colleagues and between dentists and dental patients. Trained Peer Review volunteer dentists (generalists and specialists) base their decisions and recommendations on careful review of evidence provided and reached in a fair and objective manner. Click here to learn more about Peer Review.
Dentists Concerned for Dentists – The WDA is committed to helping dentists deal with the emotional aspects of stress, depression, chronic illness and addiction. The Dentists Concerned for Dentists Committee serves as an advocate for Wisconsin dental professionals whose personal and professional lives are jeopardized by these issues. DCD is confidential and nonpunitive. It believes affected dentists are best helped by peers – people in the same profession who know and deal with the stresses of running a dental practice. All calls remain confidential. Call 866-431-9625 (toll-free, direct) for more information or to seek treatment for yourself or someone else. Click here to learn more about the program.
Mentor Program – An award-winning program and partnership between the WDA, Marquette University School of Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the mentor program helps dental students connect with members of the practicing profession. Students obtain counsel and guidance about beginning a dental career. Mentors identify potential associates and help build dentistry’s future. Click here to learn more about the Mentor Program.
