State now accepts all regional licensing exams

The Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing announced on Aug. 31, 2009 the Dentistry Examining Board has removed a major barrier to licensing as a dentist in Wisconsin.

At its most recent meeting, the DEB decided that dentists who pass a clinical competence examination on or after Jan. 1, 2009 in any region of the country will be eligible for a license to practice dentistry in Wisconsin.

The DEB’s action recognizes clinical competence examination scores from the Southeastern region (SRTA), the Western region (WREB), and examinations from the Council on Interstate Testing Agencies (CITA). The board continues to accept scores from the Central region (CRDTS), the Northeast region (NERB) and the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX).
