Education prevents disease

WDA Healthy Choices

The most cost-effective way for the state to pay for treatment of dental disease is to prevent the disease from developing in the first place.

Education is critical to successful prevention.

The WDA works to educate patients about making healthy choices, including why it’s important to brush and floss daily and make healthy diet choices to prevent small oral health problems from growing into big (and expensive) health crises.

Quality oral health care is directly related to good daily oral health habits. The WDA welcomes the opportunity to work with Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services to create and implement a program to educate low-income patients about important preventive dental care.

Visit the Oral Health Topics section of WDA.org to learn more about good dental care.
