Madison dentist named to American Dental Association council

WEST ALLIS, WIS., Feb. 19, 2013 – Wisconsin Dental Association member and Madison, Wis. general dentist Dr. Fred Jaeger has been chosen to represent his Wisconsin and Michigan colleagues on the American Dental Association’s Council on Government Affairs through October 2016.

A Middleton, Wis. resident, Jaeger is a past-president of the WDA and served in the ADA House of Delegates multiple times on behalf of his state association. He has extensive experience as a member of the WDA Legislative Committee and Wisconsin Dental Political Action Committee.

Jaeger is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and is chief of general dentistry for Meriter Hospital’s Dental Residency Program.

The ADA Council on Government Affairs recommends policies related to legislative and regulatory issues, including the formulation of proposed federal legislation. It also serves as the association’s liaison with federal government agencies, especially those employing dental personnel.

This council also disseminates information to help state dental associations and local component societies with legislative and regulatory matters in their respective states.

All council members must be active, life or retired members in good standing of the ADA.

There are 11 ADA councils and most are composed of one member from each of the 17 trustee districts. The WDA and Michigan Dental Association makeup the ADA’s 9th District
