Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center to be transformed into largest charitable dental clinic ever staged in United States
WHAT: 4th WDA and WDA Foundation Mission of Mercy
WHEN: Patient Care – Friday, June 29* and Saturday, June 30
Doors open at 5:30 a.m. both days, approximately 1,750 patients will be treated each day on a first-come, first-served basis until about 5 p.m. Setup – Thursday, June 28
*Note: 50 Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes will receive care during MOM.
Interview and story opportunities:
- “Walk the line” with Mission of Mercy spokespersons and interview patients waiting in line (some overnight) before the clinic doors even open.
- See Mission of Mercy in action by touring the clinic floor and interviewing patients, dentists and other volunteers about this large-scale charitable effort to reduce barriers to oral health care in Wisconsin.
- Talk with area dental professionals about why charity events like MOM aren’t the final solution to our state’s dental crisis – and how WDA’s proposed “Healthy Choices” initiatives can help ensure residents get the dental care they need to be healthy all year long.
