Program

New Aspects of Dentistry – 2017

This fast-moving course includes the areas of dentistry with the most activity and change in any given year. It is easily understood and has numerous summaries that help attendees to interpret the ongoing advancements in the profession. The course encourages audience participation, with questions and answers presented in an enjoyable and humorous manner.

Many of the hottest aspects of dentistry have been selected and tailored to meet the needs of the group’s participants. The topics range from the latest trends in preventive dentistry to esthetic dentistry and much more.

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

Speaker

Gordon J. Christensen, DDS, MSD, PhD is founder and chief executive officer of Practical Clinical Courses, chief executive officer of Clinicians Report Foundation and a practicing prosthodontist in Provo, Utah.

Drs. Gordon and Rella Christensen are co-founders of the non-profit Clinicians Report Foundation (previously named CRA), which Dr. Rella Christensen directed for many years. Since 1976, they have conducted research in all areas of dentistry and published the findings to the profession in the well-known CRA Newsletter now called Clinicians Report.

Dr. Gordon Christensen’s degrees include: DDS, University of Southern California; MSD, University of Washington; PhD, University of Denver; and, two honorary doctorates.

Early in his career, he helped initiate the University of Kentucky and University of Colorado dental schools and taught at the University of Washington. Currently, he is an adjunct professor at the University of Utah, School of Dentistry. Dr. Christensen has presented thousands of hours of continuing education globally, made hundreds of educational videos used throughout the world and is published widely.

Dr. Christensen is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics; a fellow and diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists; a fellow in the Academy of Osseointegration, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of General Dentistry (Hon) and Royal College of Surgeons of England; and, an associate fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Some of his other memberships include: American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, International Association of Dental Research, Academy of LDS Dentists, American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, Academy of Operative Dentistry and International College of Prosthodontists.

Both Christensen sons are dentists — William is a prosthodontist and Michael is a general dentist. Daughter Carlene is a teacher.
