This course explores how weight stigma and bias can impact patient experiences and oral health outcomes. Participants will learn strategies to create a more inclusive, respectful dental environment through communication techniques and care approaches that align with the Health at Every Size (HAES) model.
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define weight stigma and describe its effects on patient health and dental care experiences
- Identify communication strategies that promote body respect and inclusivity in clinical settings
- Apply HAES-aligned practices to support patient well-being and trust in dental care
