The WDA Leadership Academy, held every even-numbered year, is designed for members interested in developing their leadership skills, expanding their networks and helping guide their professional association into the future. The WDA covers tuition, meals and one night’s lodging for the two-day academy, and attendees earn two non-clinical continuing education credits.
Day one of the Academy consists of hands-on leadership and teamwork training. Participants also learn about WDA governance and have dinner with the association’s officers. On day two, participants attend the winter Board of Trustees meeting to learn how the WDA conducts its business. Additionally, Academy attendees meet individually with a WDA past-president sometime during the summer before graduating at the WDA House of Delegates in November.
Attendance is limited to allow for learning in a supportive, small-group format. Every effort is made to build a diverse Academy class with representatives from various practice models, career stages and regions of the state.
Applications for the 2022 WDA Leadership Academy are closed. Look for information on the 2024 Academy in mid-2023.
