Public Awareness Campaigns
One of the ways the Wisconsin Dental Association is working to address the dental workforce shortage is by engaging the public – and encouraging young people to explore careers in the dental office.
Our new public awareness campaign, “InspireSmiles,” launched during Dental Assistants Recognition Week in early March. At the direction of the WDA Communications Committee, the multi-year program will highlight the many positives of a career as a dental hygienist, dental assistant, office manager or other member of the dental team.
“Sip Tips" emphasizes the negative oral health impacts of sipping soda, sports drinks, coffee drinks and other sugar- and acid-filled beverages and offers tips to help avoid potential problems.
The “Safe Care” campaign spotlights dental office safety and infection control protocols, the importance of keeping up with routine oral health care and why it’s safe (and recommended!) to go to the dentist during COVID-19.
